Dear Birders,
I have just been back from Kathmanu-Chitwan-Koshitappu bird watching trip.  In this trip we counted 269 species of birds in 14 days of bird watching. Among them some of the species are uncommon, rare and endangered that I have listed below.

The Sites and the Species

Lower part of Phulchowki and Godavari Garden: Fire-tail Sunbird, Black-throated Sunbird, Black Eagle, Spotted Forktail

Nagarjun Forest- Brown wood Owl, Speckled Piculet, Greater Yellow-nape woodpecker, 
Rusty-cheeked Schimitar Babbler, etc.

Shivapuri (Budhanilkantha) – Long-tailed Broadbill, Northern Goshawk, Steppe Eagle, Dark-throated Thrush, Yellow-bellied Fantail, Rufus-gorgeted Flycatcher, Orange-flanked bush Robin, Golden bush Robin,Spotted Forktail, Green-backed Tit, Striated Laughingthrush, Rufus-winged Fulvetta, Dark-breasted Rosefinch

Sundarijal- Brown Dipper, Mountain Bulbul,

On the way to Chitwan: by the Trishuli River bank, near Belku, three Ibis bill were sighted.

Chitwan National Park- full day on jeep – 3 Great Hornbill were sighted near Dudhaura Bridge
The other species included Crimson Sunbird, Hill Myna, White-eye Buzzard, etc.
Laami Lake:Changeable Hawk-eagle etc. Tamor Lake: Grey Headed Fish eagle, Osprey etc.
Bishajari Lake: Pintail Snipe, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Black Stork

Pithauli: Himalayan Griffon, Red-headed Vulture, White-rumped Vulture, Egyptian Vulture, Cinereous Vulture

On the way to Koshitappu: Pied Harrier, Hodgson Redstart, between Manahari and Hetaunda.

Koshitappu: Black-headed Ibis, Black Bittern, Bank Myna, Brown hawk Owl, Brown fish Owl, Swamp Francolin, Grey Francolin, Ashy Minivet, Great Myna, Rufus-vented Prinia, Bar-headed Goose,
Siberian Rubythroat
